Well, its that time again, except now the boredom has been replaced with joy. I’ve now got time to do all the shit I've been wanting to do for the last month or so, and haven't had time for because of University stuff.
I got CoH the other day, and I've been playing quite a bit already. I was on the beta like Wolf was, but I didn't buy it when he did because of the aforementioned university stuff. I don’t really have much to say about it that Wolf hasn't already said, but I would highly recommend it to anyone who isn't adverse to monthly server charges. You can also get these funky 2 Month time cards that you can sign up with instead of a credit card, for those who don't have one. They cost about £20 for the 2 months, so I think it actually works out slightly cheaper anyway. I'll post a pic of my character later on, if I remember.
The final book in the series I've been reading for the last 5 years is out in a couple of months, so I've also started reading that again from the beginning. It really is one of the best series' of books I've ever read, and I'd recommend them to anyone who likes fantasy stories. They are also pretty cheap now so if you get them and don't like them for some reason, you won't have really lost much.
Now, for a change, I'd like to tell you a story. Its a story about an idiot. This idiot is also one of my university lecturers, and he teaches (tries to, anyway) the Java Programming part of my course. The assessment for this module was a 3 hour lab test, with the class divided into 2 groups. I was in the first group, my friend in the second. The questions for this test were stored on the webpage for the course. After I had finished passing the test (with relative ease, I might add), I went to tell my friend about it. A quick check revealed that not only had he left the exam open to everyone in the second group, he had also left the entire solution, source code and all, for the whole exam inside the directory where anyone can get at it, inside the exam or out.
This is the same guy that has had numerous complaints brought against him for shear incompetence over the past 2 years, and yet he still has his job. How? Well I really don't know, but I'm not ruling out sexual favours to higher powers just yet.
